This week in training: the 20 miler

Comments

You're going to be happy that you stuck with your long run - they say that for those runs, going the distance matters more than the speed at which you run it. I ran my first full marathon after never having run more than 13 miles in my life and I was toast. I had to walk miles 15-25 due to severe leg cramps - my body just wasn't ready to run for longer than two hours.
Yup, good job sticking it out! The 20-milers will pay off big time come race day. It's also important to nail down your nutrition too during training. My biggest problem during my first marathon wasn't physical (no aches or pains), but nutrition. I flatly bonked, running out of gas.

Good Job!

Lance was clearly not ready for the Mary...it showed in his times. You are really going to enjoy your Marathon!!!

Best Wishes!!!

Good job. I am a bit worried about not being able to put in my long runs before WDW due to my ankle problem, but I'm going to do my best. Luckily, my goal is to finish, not break any records.
